Belief, sincerity and flexibility

Whether or not something is inherent in your belief systems, you may be in a phase whereby you choose to adopt a new belief, but you find yourself experiencing some inner conflict. The reason for this is because we naturally go through a phase, of rejection, of new beliefs, especially if they are replacing old redundant one that has been heavily ingrained within our being. During this time it’s easy to feel like you’re artificially speaking or doing the new belief. You might feel like there’s a lack of sincerity when telling people about this new belief. This is because we may have yet to see any results of our new belief systems. Once the result has been seen, even if only in tiny proportions, those beliefs will end the phase of becoming ingrained. The sincerity will come through the results.

One thing you must have, with regards to your beliefs, is flexibility. If you become obsessed with any one particular belief system, it is likely that and transition phase will be that much harder and “bruise” your ego. Hard and fast beliefs serve you in no way other than to limit your vision of the world. So, just as an experiment, make them flexible, but choose with sincerity and see what changes you find in your life from those new added dimensions.

Elsewhere on the Blogosphere,

I was just over at Secretoflife and Secret Simon put up a post about Positive thinking for beginners that sort of ties in with what I was talking about with regards to belief and results. Click here for the article.

I am also in the process of writing a post called: The paradigm of wanting Vs appreciation which also ties in. Watch out for that one soon!

I was also on Living Stress Free, Naturally and Michelle wrote this post about dealing with children’s stress. I particularly found it handy as I work with children often and so you may find some information relevant to your situation and relationship with children. The article can be found here.

Other stuff

Things are very busy for me at the moment, work is incredibly busy and I’m spending much of my time playing catchup right now. I think I could use a few tips from Jim Estill on time leadership but by next week I should be back to full blogging once again. :)

This weekend I’m off to Riga in Latvia for a Stag party. The last time I went on one was rowdy to put it mildly :P but I’ve changed immensely as a person since then and so this one is going to be an interesting challenge! :D I don’t drink alcohol and I know that all the other 17 guys around me will be drinking heavily but we’ll be doing lots of fun things like paint balling and go-karting so it should be a fun weekend none the less!

Wish me luck! :P

Be happy!

    Hi Amit,

Thanks for the mention on the article about kids and stress. Often, busy and stressed-out parents don’t stop to think their children could be experiencing a lot of stress, too. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be an age limit.

I’ve been pretty busy too, putting together an online qigong class! I’ve found a video conferencing service that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and will be offering an online, weekday Eight Pieces of Brocade (baduanjin) qigong workout! I’m being “flexible” here (LOL)…this is not something I ever dreamed of doing; a friend suggested it and it seemed like an interesting idea! So, yes, be open to those messages from the universe that are delivered by friends, and be flexible in implementing them! :-)

Have fun at your party, and have a great weekend!

Congrats on the new qigong class, let me know the times and dates…I may even join in if I can!

Have a great weekend and good luck with the classes!!

    :-D

This is very true we must always keep our minds and hearts open no matter how much we think we know or think we are right.

    Amit-

A few weeks back I stumbled upon your website as I was looking for pieces of material on choice for an upcoming youth rally I am preparing.

I fell in love with your choice minute meditation, as well as read several other of your posts. I also noticed your sayings about the secret.

Then, not even a week later, my mother bought the secret for me. I put off watching it, but had that itching though, about how I’d seen it here…

Well, I put it off, I’m a busy person. Well about a week after I put it off, I came across your website AGAIN, not even realizing it. I read your Foot prints in the snow!

Then, as I was leaving, what should I click on but the secret button. After being there, I finally gave in and watched it.

    And its amazing.

I felt that I should thank you.

Please, keep up your postings, Its amazing how we effect people by just… Being.

    Love, and blessings,

    -Kat

    Hi Kat,

That’s an awesome story, I’m so glad you stumbled here and have found some benefit in the writings. I must apologise for being so quiet for the last two weeks. I’ve been incredibly busy however, all the while, focusing on my personal development and also thinking about fresh writings for this site.

I’m so glad you finally made the choice to watch the secret and how much it has touched you. I’m sure you’re so excited that you’re going to be sharing this with your friends and family and I hope that they too take something amazing from watching it!

You know where I am if you ever need anything,

    Your friend,

    Amit :)
