When I was collecting stories for my radio show a few weeks ago I came across this story of how Estelle came to meet Kanye West which eventually led to them forming a collaboration and creating the number one hit ‘American Boy’.

“Estelle has revealed that she first met her musical collaborator Kanye West at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n’ Waffles.

The pair, who are currently number one in the UK charts with the single ‘American Boy’, bumped into each other at the Hollywood soul food eatery.

She told the Daily Telegraph: “I went to Roscoe’s Chicken and bumped into Kanye.

“I was like, ‘Lord, if you’re above, I need to meet Kanye, he needs to come outside.’ Ten seconds later he came out and I went ‘Thank you, Jesus!’”

A powerful example of not only the power of asking but also the power of gratitude too. :-D

My heart is sensitive and romantic and I believe that everyone in this world has that one special soul who they connect with. However recently, life has illuminated the reality of love, and essentially compartmentalised it into a ‘black and white’ order. I have been granted a brief look into the eyes of others around me, who see love as the manifestation of hormones, lust and desire. Where love has nothing to do with your heart or higher self’s purpose, but more of an indication of what other parts of the body are pulling you to do. The stark realisation of this fact aggrieves me; even though I have known it for years and am no stranger to its concept, I never the less find it a difficult and painful awareness to accept.

Have we as humans become so disconnected that even love has lost its mysterious potency? It has been handed over to our bodies and we are but slaves to its satisfaction.

The more I cling onto the thought that love is a beautiful, transformative, uplifting journey for your soul, the more I am forced to witness its corrupt expression.

However being a firm believer in the teachings of Abraham, I know that my thoughts are the powerful engines which shape my reality, therefore I understand that this moment in time serves me well to uphold my firm beliefs in love and what I REALLY want from the love of another.

Why should I bow down to an unnatural concept when my heart craves to experience the power of my creator through the love of another soul. Do I compromise my hearts calling for the sake of conforming to a lifestyle that is accepted by everyone else around me?

As I transmit my intention of love to others I am consistently made to feel guilty for asking for a love that is innocent and sweet, looked upon as though I have a warped, archaic perception of love. Have I always been the human dreaming of being the butterfly, who is now lost in the psychosis?

As you can see, my internal battle and quest to eliminate this loneliness brings pain, doubt and fear. However even though the world around me adopts such a view, I wish to live in my fantasy and hold on to my concept that this person who I fall in love with, will also have the view that love is a soul connection, and not just the result of chemicals and hormones surging around the body.

If this view is indeed a result of years of misconstrued understanding where the barrier between the dream world and real world has been breached, then I wish to allow this to grow within me. It gives me ‘hope’ and paints a picture of a world I ‘choose’ to live in, albeit a reverie.

So with this in mind, I allow the tears in my heart to dry and hold firm my views in the face of harsh truth and with god’s grace breathe in life and wait for the day when my fairy tale romance becomes my reality. I wish to be saturated in its magic, to bathe in its sweet aroma and to taste its intoxicating essence upon my lips!

Follow your dreams in the face of adversity – no matter what the cost!

Peace and Blessings – From a slightly broken heart, but i know i will heal! Kavi xxx

StuHis passion is music (although he would argue it is chocolate!). His voice, so deliberate yet strategically subtle, gentle teasing you into submission for the message he brings. A winning combination to the lyrics, which are layered like a rich tapestry of life experience, higher learning, faith, goals and love. It’s like the poetic murmurings of a beautifully sung prayer – it touch’s your heart and leaves light in your soul!

Read the following in depth interview to uncover why this inspiring new artist is promoting the one thought “the human solution is a divine evolution” and why he has decided to donate his profits to a charity close to his heart.

So Stu, when and why did you start playing guitar, and when did you discover you had the talent to sing?

I asked for a guitar on my 16th birthday, as soon as I knew a few chords I started writing my own songs. A few months later I made my own studio by lashing together my ghetto blaster to my girlfriend’s dad’s stereo.
I knew I could sing as a child because I could imitate all the songs I liked, but I was v shy.

What are your fondest musical memories?

Playing my old Walt Disney record, yes vinyl! My favourite “I wanna be like you” over & over. Still know it word for word & every monkey noise.
Then my next favourite memory is when I was 17 & went to Dingwalls Jazz club on a Sunday afternoon. Giles Peterson was playing frenetic but musical 60’s bebop & two guys (I think maybe “brothers in Jazz”) were dancing, the floor just cleared for them. I can’t describe in words how I felt, the sound & the sight just moved me to tears as I stared, it was a v deep experience. They had such style, grace & physicality, the rhythm, joy & energy was shinning from them, the sound … it was a high that no drugs could come close too.
That experience got me into dancing, so I went every week to these Sunday afternoon jazz clubs, even on my own, it was so cool. Never packed & always full of interesting souls struttin n stepping, expressing their thing. You can see a person s soul through the eyes & how they move to rhythm.

So who are your influences?

The person who is the single biggest influence on me musically is my music teacher, Professor TV Gopalakrishnan, a master of Classical Indian music.

Who are your favorite musicians? Groups?

Musicians & influence is such an enormous question for me; so here goes. My musical training came from listening, first to the radio, with whatever caught my ear. As a young teenager I loved rock n roll, especially Little Richard, but the radio is so diverse & so my taste has always been diverse, but generally its Black music in its many forms. Growing older I could afford records: I loved the songs Prince did, up until about 90’s, loved hip hop beats, conscious lyrics of KRS1 & Chuck D, but the best flow was Big Daddy Kane. At that time you were either an indie kid or hip hop, I was the odd ball, I did like both, though I could only dance to hip hop. Indie songs, bands I appreciated. The breaks in hip hop got me into funk, JB being the obvious, but then the breaks began to get more obscure, jazz influenced & soon my record collection was well over 10,000; gospel, jazz, funk, soul etc.
No one name really stands out, but sooo many songs & artists have influenced me.

So how do you handle mistakes during a performance and do you ever get nervous before a performance?

Mistakes, if u don’t make a big deal of it, other people won’t either. When buskin on the underground I would actually be trying things out, writing, working ideas. True performance art ! the energy & vibe of all those people would become part of the creation. Busker’s do 2 hour slots, its all v official, sometimes for those 2 hours I’d work on 1 song, but people only hear 10 seconds of it so it cool. Any way if I didn’t make “mistakes” I wouldn’t get ideas. Of course I got nervous. The mind is such a trickster. Some days u listen to its crap more than others.

Do you work with other artists, If so who? and why?

Yeah, I got into doing my own stuff by working with others. My first single “Money” by Coco & the Bean, I did the rap for it. These guys did hip hop in their bedroom so this inspired me to do likewise. Currently I’m working with Sali, a Carnatic (south Indian classical) singer on an innovative dance track, also an RnB singer called Kavita, she’s great but keeps burping like Barney (Simpson’s) after a great vocal take.

Ha ha, very funny – I’ll get you back for that!
So, tell us about the REAL Stu?

Big question eh? I’m special, there’s no one quite like me. Then we are all unique & special so I guess I’m ordinarily special. I’m very blessed, I’ve had the opportunity to experience a “western” & “eastern” family life. I’m v healthy. Funny, well I laugh at myself. V positive, love life, especially people, but I think our potential is nowhere near reached. I’m also blessed with many talents, musical creations being the primary. But the more I witness people struggling with themselves, religion, God etc the more I realize that my most treasured blessing is having a direct communication with the divine. I always feel truly at ease with my personal faith & this actually also makes me feel at ease with any religious faith. Religious texts are words but the wisdom is woven between the words, interpretation depends on the heart & mind of the reader. The essence of love is universal, humanity is corrupted by ego. Music transcends all this political egotistical crap because its feeling comes not from words but the movement of notes. Like love it has its universal law. I study Carnatic music because the “laws” that define this music have evolved over thousands of years & its focus is more internal, it has more culture, not to say its better, but it has a different emphasis. It will be many more years before I will master this art but its influence will permeate into my creations.

Why do you want to record and release your own music?

I make one big assumption in life: if I like something, other people will also like it, not everyone, but then not everyone likes Thai red curry, but I do.
“I admit, this rhyme is not mine, it’s inspired, divine….” That’s a quote from “Beats n Love” but it reflects my music. I feel that my music will inspire other people, whether it’s a social or political comment or whether its lust or love, my tunes are varied, but whatever the message & emotion that combination of notes conveys, other people will share & appreciate hearing it.
I feel I have a “product” which is not eclectic, cliquey but has a wide appeal. I want to get “mass” appeal, that will mean more influence, power & of course money. With those ingredients I stand a chance of creating a school for deprived kids.

How do you describe your music to people?

It depends who I’m talking to. Music is a science, its full of maths, symmetry, structure, its incredibly beautiful. Its nature & nature is not as crazy & abstract as many people think. If you are not aware of the fundamentals of it, then how can it be discussed? If u wanna chat like a critic then its all about your perspective, your interpretation & feeling. Many people may share that feeling but not everyone so its not really a discussion.
My music is natural, so without trying it has a structure, symmetry, flow etc. its natural because its inspired: by the millions of songs, rhythms & nature, by life, energy & love.

Out of the songs that you have written so far, which one is your favorite and why?

“On my way” seems to be a big favorite, I like it cos its catchy & has a great positive message. Its not my personal favorite. My favorites are some of my earlier tracks which wont be released till I’m in a position of having a great studio & engineer to do them justice. The sound scape of them is amazing, I would spend sometimes up to 4 months on one track. Now I spend about 4 weeks.
What challenges have you had to face in order to pursue music?
Time has been the biggest challenge. I’ve needed a lot of time to be ready for this release. Physically, spiritually, mentally as well as musically. I’ve practiced yoga for 15 years, studied martial arts, Sufiism, Carnatic music, ayervedic medicine, dance, all to get a balance in my life. I trained to become a school teacher, its all part of the BIG plan, its starting to come together. My drive has pushed me through some v tough times, fate has continually pulled me along. I’m ready now.

Why have you decided to donate your profits to charity and why have you chosen this charity?

The Parry Charitable foundation is a small independent charity that provides a loving home for handicapped children. It’s standard of care is high & there is a big waiting list. Every penny from donation goes into helping the kids NOT on administration. ALL the workers are volunteer, most charities 70% of your donation goes into paying their admin costs.
I know this charity & sometimes work there myself, for these reasons I donate to them.
In the long term I want to set up my own school for deprived children. I’m a qualified school teacher, yoga teacher & scientist as well as many other “life” skills. From a young age I would talk to God. When I was 12 years old I received instructions to help deprived children. This goal is my purpose, music is the vehicle to propel me there.

OK, finally what does “the human solution is a divine evolution” really mean?

It’s from the track ‘On my way’….
Ok this small phrase has a big meaning, & rather like a sutra in yoga text, a surah in the Holy Qur’an or verse from the Holy bible its open to interpretation. Unlike those wonderful books of wisdom the writer is fortunately for me still around. So here’s the intended meaning: evolution; this word is kicking up a big fuss lately, in America some schools are refuting the scientific evidence & claiming the “literal” bible version of evolution. Well books of ancient wisdom such as the Old Testament were written with hidden meaning & depth that belies a superficial surface. The true value of the words lie in studying those hidden meanings. The Darwin theory of evolution & the scientific evidence is compatible with religion in fact it’s magnitude & beauty reinforces a divinity & creation. However this is not the platform for this debate & as I said before, interpretation is dependant on perspective. What’s important is that evolution is not HISTORICAL its continuous. We are still evolving & compared to the history of the world we have just climbed down from the trees. If you look at how we behave we are still as ruthless as we ever were as beasts. Capitalism is the law of the jungle but applied to the City. “Only the strong survive. “ Fortunately this is not the whole story. All over the world people are silently working, giving unconditional love to those who are in need or weaker. I believe that right now, historically, we are at a cross roads of evolution. Technology is changing our lives & the global communication phenomena can & is spreading a message of love. It’s mixed up with violence & sex but Its harder to get any more violent than we are, its impossible to take off any more clothes, but the message of love is limitless & individuals & groups everywhere are able to contribute & unify in a way even the hippies never dreamed off. I read in a Sufi book once (can’t remember which one, sorry). “When we act like animals we are worse than the animals but when we act like angels we are better than the angels.”
Its just a case of time. When will we choose the path of love?

Thank you to Stu for sharing his work with us and giving us the time for this interview, and thank YOU for reading the article.

Peace and Love

I’m off today to the Tony Robbins UPW seminar again this year but this time I’m crewing for the event. It doesn’t look like there’s internet access where I’ll be staying so this my be my last post until next Monday.

As it’s day 50, another milestone, here’s another treat for you all. Here’s a link to some notes made by someone who attended a Tele-seminar by Neil Donald Walsch, author of the Conversations with God series of books. The seminar was about his new book called Happier than God. Thanks to Shama for allowing us to share it here, enjoy the notes, there are some real gems in there!

Nothing exists until you begin observing. The very act of observing gives rise and creates that which is being observed. This is one of the lessons that can learned from the new realm of quantum spiritual science. Congruently, nothing has meaning except that which the observer bestows!

An SOS (Simple Obvious Strategy) to increase our love for ourselves and others

Even modern science tells that every atom in the universe is more intricately connected that we will ever probably be able to understand. And who knows, whatever the physical represents, maybe it has it’s metaphysical counterpart?!

It is with this in mind that whenever I see a stranger, or I meet someone for the first time, while still going through the usual motions of the meet and greet, internally I say to myself “HELLO ME!” This is because the person in front of me are intricately connected, we are made of the same stuff, we came from the same soup, we were manifested by the same great universal force, they and I are part of the same universal body!

This always reminds me to treat them exactly as I would treat myself in an counter, i.e., with love, honesty courtesy, and respect.

So in reality, anyone you meet, you are in fact, just meeting another part of yourself. :)

So, there I was in the shower a couple of days ago and suddenly the idea for this post came into my head. So are we really destined to reach a particular point in our lives and if so the question arises; does that mean, that the point that we reach is our maximum potential? Or can we surpass our supposed destiny? And if we’ve surpassed our destiny then is that new level we’ve reach our new destiny?? Who or what the heck is deciding what our destiny is anyway!

For those that have been visiting this blog often, you will already know that I don’t believe in destiny at all, I believe in choice and that choice is the supreme universal driving force. However maybe it’s a bit late to be bringing this up but that’s a tiny bit of lie! I do sort of believe in destiny, but not quite the way that some people do. I do believe in the grand design, but I also believe that the grand design is determined by our choices. Confused? Good! Now just wait till I get going! :P

Lets step back to the title just for a moment, capability vs destiny. So if we were to believe for now that we do have a destiny, does that mean then that we will reach a certain point in life or acheive a certain thing but be unable to go any further? Or are we unlimted creatures with unlimited potential within the scope of the known laws of physics? How are the boundaries of fate or destiny designed, decided or specified?

Lets say, for arguments sake, there is such a thing called destiny. If we all had a specific role to play within a grandly designed tapestry on a material we know as space-time then who or what created the tapestry. Who or what provided the fabric? Was it a God-like Taylor? With who or what does the decision or the roles of every creature on this green earth reside? And we’re just talking on a global scale here, we haven’t even begun to think about other races and life forms in the rest of the Universe!

My personal theory is that the grand design is based on constant energy. I won’t go into more detail on this particular article as I want to turn your attention now to then the possibility of capability only being limited by our imagination, emotion, desire, and yes of course, choice! As already discussed, if you support the theory of destiny you hit ceilings and barriers that almost unanswerable by nature. E.g. who or what sets the limits? With capability there is only one question that needs answering, i.e. How high? And than can only be answered by ones own self growth, through desire, drive and ambition.

Quite frankly, whether we’ve been put here for a purpose, is totally irrelevant. What is completely relevant is what are you going to do while you have the choice and capability? Are you going to be dictated to about how high you can go? Or will you choose to let the voice in your be boundless and unlimited in it’s capability! It is in fact down to “Unlimited Choice!”

It was with that in mind that I decided to rename my book from “The power of choice” to “Unlimited Choice” because that to me sums up even more how much scope there is for us as human beings.

I kept this article much shorter than I originally intended but to finish I just wanted to share this with you. Have you been watching the t.v. series Heroes? I managed to watch the final episode yesterday and as I watched my jaw dropped because for me it totally tied in with the ideas shared within this post.

I’ll try not to spoil it for those of you that have not seen it but in the final episode, Sylar, forsee’s the future, however that future is changed….what changes it? It was choice through capability! It was the decision of one person to realise his capability and then make a choice which ultimately changed what Sylar had seen as being written in the future. That episode for me sums up for me the way in which the grand design I spoke of earlier, interacts with our choices. If you haven’t seen this t.v. show, for those of you that are sci-fi fans, I highly recommend it!

Choose your destiny! (A true new paradox!)

MeditationMinute meditations are a method through which you can empower yourself in many different way throughout the day. No matter how busy you are, no matter how much you have on your plate, you can always spare yourself a minute or two, 3 or 4 times a day to recharge your spirit. Remember, this is for your well being and so you will give as time and commitment to this in proportion to how important you feel your well being is to you. This is your life and your time, make it important to feel refreshed and to find time for yourself because before you know it, this thing called life, will seem way way distant in the rear view mirror.

For much of my day I sit at an office desk in front of a computer. Working in I.T. there isn’t anywhere else I have to be unless I have to fix some hardware or attend meetings. What I find is that after even just an hour or two of sitting in the same position, when it comes to getting up and moving around, I feel very stiff and brittle throughout my whole body. It takes me at least a few minutes to regain my full flexibility.

For reasons of health and safety, our HR department recommends that we have a change of activity every 30 - 45 minutes to make sure we are getting plenty of movement and not doing to much damage to the body through sitting still for so long. In front of a computer, you eyes can strain, you can get headaches, your joints can get stiff, you can get dehydrated but most importantly you can become very dull from the lack of movement. :P

So what can you do during those few minutes free? Well for me, during those times where I change my activity, I have a number of minute meditations that I use to take my focus away from work for just a moment, and move it towards the bigger picture of human existence, as a whole, and the purpose of being. I try not to challenge myself with questions or bog myself down with proving what I feel to be true, I just allow myself to sink into the experience of being and enjoy the feelings of relaxed awareness and blissful communion with my innermost core.

I offer to you some suggestions and some of the momentary thoughts I use to regain alignment and enhance congruency with my being.

Thought 1 - As I sit here, I am aware that within this universe I am interconnected with every atom. I am a vibrational being and every atom of this body vibrates at a unique frequency just like each and every cell phone has a unique frequency. I know that my state of being will attract vibrational matches and so I, being the powerful creator that I am with unlimited choices, offer vibrations of love, happiness, peace, joy, caring, compassion to everything around me so that others around me feel the vibrations emanating from me. This in turn assists them in attracting vibrational matches.

Thought 2 - I am a 3 part being, a mind, a body and spirit. The body and mind are my tools for experiencing in this realm of the physical. I, the spirit, originated from a non physical plain and chose to inherit a body to come and experience the beauty of contrast within the physical dimension. This universe of relativity exists so that I experientially partake in that which I know of but have little experience in. I cannot know darkness without light; I cannot know happiness without sorrow. So I am grateful at all times to know the purpose of this physical see-saw.

Thought 3 - Every human spirit I encounter is a reflection of me just as I am a reflection of them. As I see each soul, I remember that we are ultimately one universal family. Skin colour, religion, nationality, languages, are all constructs of this social society but it is not the baseline of existence. These are just frames of reference and identity but ultimately we all originated with one purpose, with one desire, that is; to know ourselves through physical experience.

Thought 4 - At every single step I have a choice. I choose what to feel from what moment to the next. I choose how to perceive the world. Nothing shapes my perceptions other that those things that I have chosen to believe. I choose how I react to people, events and circumstances. No one is responsible for the way I feel except me. I have the power of choice. It is my greatest gift and is the most powerful force in the universe. No matter the outcome of my choices, I will remain empowered to know that I can choose something different the next time according to the purpose I’ve chosen for myself.

Thought 5 - I am extremely grateful to be here today. I am grateful for the joy of this experience. I am grateful for all the wonderful things in my life which I get to be a part of everyday. I take nothing for granted and appreciate everything. I am thankful that I chose this particular journey. I thank my creator and maker for offering me the freedom of choice whether to be here or not and I’m glad I made the decision that I did.

These are just a few of the ones that I use on a regular basis and I encourage you to make up your own as you see fit. Make them light but profoundly impactful to you. Think of new ones on a regular basis or just make them up as you go along. There are no hard and fast rules about how you can do this. Just a minute or two a couple of times a day to go deeper within yourself and you will feel more powerful that you have ever felt before and you will find yourself naturally more grateful for all your experiences. Have fun and make it a habit! :)

I prayed that god would help me find my way,
A way through the darkness,
Through the suffering and the pain,
God showed me sweet kindness
Of how to get through the day
A way to make the day start happier again

I asked of miracles to keep a smile on my face
To keep me in god’s graces
And to always keep me in a brighter place
God picked out an angel to keep me from harm
Someone who’s tender, accepting and fair
The one to create balance, when my life isn’t calm
So trusting, so protective, attentive with care

So whenever I fear what this world has to offer
I never have to look too far away
I simply call you, because there is no other
Who god has sent to me, to get me through my day.

BeggarWhat do you do?

If your first reaction is one of caution, that’s ok. If your first reaction is one of putting extra space between yourself and the beggar, that’s ok. If your first reaction is to look away from the beggar and try and avoid eye contact, that’s ok. If your first reaction is to pretend they are not even there, that’s ok.

——————–

For many, walking past a beggar can be an indicisive time. We hear so many things about beggars that we naturally act cautious and may even have to think carefully before taking any action. In the past, when I was much younger and more naive, I never used to give money to a beggar. I was always told, by my spiritual family, not to. I was told that I if gave them money and they then spent that money on alcohol, I would get the bad karma. I was fed all sorts of beliefs that limited my perception and taught me to be afraid of doing anything genuinely good. I was taught to be selfish. I am fairly sure that I am not alone in this experience or alone with these beliefs.

Here is an example of some good that came out of a similar act: I was also told, never to donate blood because if my blood went to someone, who did something bad, I would get the bad karma from that. After a while I broke free of that spiritual family. One day, some friends of mine were going to donate blood one day and asked if I’d like to go along. I had to think carefully for a while but then I decided “what the heck” an went along with them. That was about 3 years ago and since then I’ve been donating regularly. I recently met a fantastic young lady who happened to stumble across my blog. We quickly became good friends and I started to learn lots about her including the fact that her life depends on her getting a blood transfusion on a monthly basis. Now just remember that we met randomly through her finding my blog, but then we realised that we both have the same blood type and that she gets her blood from the same place where I donate my blood. :)

So there I was, I was told to believe something when I was younger and I was given a very good reason why. But then I made my own reasons of “why not?” It wasn’t a question of whether what I was doing was right or wrong, it was a question of what felt right to me. It was an action that allowed me to feel like I was doing something for the greater good. I was doing something and helping people which is my favorite thing in the world.

So there I was yesterday, walking past a beggar and feeling that initial insecurity; “what should I do? Where should I look? How should I feel? Should I acknowledge them? Will I feel guilty if I walk by without giving money? If I ignore them maybe they’ll dissapear!” Do any of those questions or feelings seem familiar to you?

I decided yesterday to give this beggar, all the change I had within my pocket. Before I did, I smiled and I knew that I wouldn’t catch anything. :P I pulled out what I had, it was about £5 in change, I walked up to the beggar and gave him the money in his hand. When I walked away I didn’t think about what he would use the money on, I didn’t feel like I did it out of pity, I didn’t even feel like I was giving him any money. I felt like I was walking past me, and this other me asked for a sharing, and in that way I shared something with this beautiful human soul. I didn’t think about what clothes he was wearing or that he may hurt me. All I could think was that this soul was a God, just like me.

It was very important for me to feel like my actions were not out of pity or guilt, but through my choosing and for a higher purpose. There were so many ways for me to look at the situation but my favorite was to think of that soul, having attracted that £5 by asking the Universe, and I was the response.

——————–

When you walk past a beggar…

If your first reaction is one of caution, that’s ok. But after you’ve overcome your caution, offer a smile.

If your first reaction is one of putting extra space between yourself and the beggar, that’s ok. But then, walk over to them.

If your first reaction is to look away from the beggar and try and avoid eye contact, that’s ok. But then look at them as if that was you.

If your first reaction is to pretend they are not even there, that’s ok. But then acknowledge them fully, and say hello. :)

Sat NavThese days, just about everyone has Satellite Navigation in their cars! You either get them with your new car or you can buy a Sat Nav portable unit for about £200. I first got mine about 18 months ago and I personally think it is a wonder of modern technology! It works most of the time but on the odd occasion, if there’s been a new road built, or there is a military base near by, it will tend to stop working unannouced and usually just when I am about 5 mins away from my destination and without a map! :P

The great thing about Sat Nav is that it will find you a new route automatically. On some days there may be an accident that causes a tail-back, or there may be road works, in any case, all you do is take an alternate route to the one shown on the screen of your Sat Nav and then it will automatically calculate a new route for you.

It has some excellent features and is so simple to use; all you do is select which city or town you want to visit, then type in the road name, the then house number or building and voila! You’re good to go! You also have the option to add specific land marks to the on screen map such as camp sites, petrol stations, hotels etc. You are guided by a voice, (which some of my friends say is sexy which I’m still undecided on! :P), that tells you which direction to go in next or which exit to take etc.

In the same way, the Universe is our very own Sat Nav device. It does not judge where you want to go. We are forever empowered to choose our destination; we choose exactly where it is that we want to go! We type in our destination with our thoughts and the Godliverse then proceeds in caculating the best route.

Along the route we have to listen carefully to the instructions given by the sexy Sat Nav voice of the Universe. Any major distractions may end up causing us to go onto a different route but so long as the destination is clear the Universal Sat Nav will find an alternate way. We also have the choice of choosing an alternate route. If you do not like the route that that Universe has chosen for you, you can still begin a new route and the Universe will happily respond with a new route in accordance to your desire.

You will pass various signs along the way, the signs are not always well lit but if you’re observant enough, you will know which signs to look out for that best guide you to you destination, just in case the Universal Sat Nav signal is low. This can happen when the sky is covered with heavy clouds or if the receivers signal gets blocked by tunnels. Just remember there is always light at the end of a tunnel! ;)

There you have it! Whether you have Sat Nav in your car or not; you have your very own personal Universal Sat Nav that leads the way to your chosen destination. All you have to do is switch on the receiver and program in your destination! :)

Walking woman…is the most soul destroying statement I have ever heard! I hear this statement from people over and over again and they often use it with regards to any situation that has not gone the way they had planned or hoped. They put it down to some superior force controlling their lives not allowing them to experience theselves as the glorious creators that they are.

Someone said this to me recently regarding a relationship, another friend used this statment when they didn’t get the job that they really wanted.

The truth is, the statement itself is absolutely true, but the way in which it is used to determine future events is disturbing. The way I think about it is; only past events are destiny, everything present and future is my choice and creation. The trouble begins when people start using that statement before and event has even happened. The problem is to continue using that statement is a submission that everything is out of our control when, in fact, we have control over our actions at every given moment. We also have the power to create our realities as we choose, we have influence over matter and energy and it is that influence that creates.

Every PRESENT moment represents and infinite number of possibilities. We use our power of choice to determine which of those possibilities we opt for. If I see the woman of my dreams walking by me on the street, I have a choice, I can either walk over to her and say hello or I can just let her walk by without taking any action. Now of course, there is a good chance that she may think I’m a complete wierdo approaching her at random, but what the heck, I may never see her again, so I’ll take a shot at it and make the most of it, because it’s my attitude and my conviction that determines the flow of the situation.

The other issue with that kind of statement is that the underlying thought is that there is a Godly force of sorts that is sitting “up there” deciding what is best for me even if it’s something I don’t like. Can you see the trouble with the thought like that? If I go for a job interview, with the thought: “If it’s meant to be I’ll get this job, If I don’t get it, it just means that it wasn’t meant to be.” What’s wrong with that picture? Quite simply I won’t be getting that job because my heart is just not there with my head. Why should I even try and looking for a job at all, God is going to decide what’s best for me, so God will deliver to my door the job s/he intends for me?

If you ever catch yourself in the act, of having that thought, gently say to yourself: “Whatever has happened, is of my choosing. I have the power to choose and create my present and future as I wish it to be. Only past events were meant to be, but were so through my own volition. Each moment is a glorious opportunity to re-create my life as I choose it to be now!”

It’s always a choice, and I always say; The only way to know, is to try for yourself! ;)

Good vs evilI feel something in the air. Change. I feel a sense of a huge shift in awareness and consciousness. To me, there are two distinct schools of thought emerging on this planet. There are those who you can feel straight away are people who are open minded and who feel like they can sense the truth about the Universe and it’s conception. And there are those who are completely oblivious to this distinct feeling of truth and knowing that is now coming into existence at this particularly amazing time of human development and evolution.

When I talk about the battle of good and evil, I don’t literally mean a physical battle, I’m talking about the clashing of these two schools of thought. Those who are beginning to open up to the possiblities of God and the physical and metaphysical universe as being one and the same thing. The great parts that make up the whole. This school of thought sees God as a being that is one thing: Pure Love. This pure love will never chastise you for calling him/her by a particular name. The other school of thought is one of mans laws and systems of control. They believe that this control gives them a sense of power and those the follow have yet to awaken to the new and wonderful possibilites of “pure love”.

GodI have to admit I’m not even sure what a Tamali is but I once heard it used in a movie and it sounded cool! So who is this character we refer to as God, Ram, Allah, Universe, Supreme, Shiva, Alpha/Omega? etc etc!

Who is this being that many believe created us and then blame when things go wrong? Did A conscious, sentient being create the universe, that is, bring it into existence and if so for what purpose? Or are we here by accident? All familar questions and I’m sure you’ve all asked a few of these in your time.

We will never know for sure but I personally believe that the Supreme force in the Universe is a conscious being living in an unconscious way. I believe that we are all a part of that being. Every Molecule throughout the Universe is interconnected in something I call a UWW (Universal Wide Web) I believe that Ultimately the Universe is contructed of a material energy called the body of the Supreme. We are all interconnected in this. Separation doesn’t exist. Absolute interconnection does. It is a connection of choice, beauty and cooperation. This Universe is part of something much greater. What those parts are I do not know but I feel like the whole is the supreme being and I am a major part of that as are we all. We all have a chosen roles to play. There was a point where you were asked, what would you like to do? And at that moment we all made a conscious choice about what we would like to do while we spend time on a different plain of existence.

The SecretFor the the last few weeks I’ve been seeing people on blogs all over the place like Erin Pavlina, Mystic Saint, Lyman’s Blog etc talking about this film called: The Secret.

All you need is an open mind, I don’t think anyone could really explain through words what the secret is about, all you can do it watch it and take from it what your own heart needs. It is an amazing thing, it’s only cost $5 for a single viewing online (less than the cost of a movie from blockbuster) or $30 for the DVD. I watched it online yesterday and then I immediately ordered the DVD.

It costs very little but I submit to you that it is worth every penny! :)

How do you deal with death?

A friend passed away two days ago. He died of kidney cancer which spread to his lymph nodes, after which left him with a total of a month left. He had so much in life – uni, friends, family, work…people who loved him and things he loved. At age 24, Mike passed away at Toronto General in pain and high on drugs to ease that pain.

I keep writing in the present tense and then changing it to the past. It’s hard for me to believe he’s gone. How does someone like him just die a slow and painful death? What justice is there in that?

UniverseWhen I walk around, on a day to day basis, I always observe people. If I go sit in a cafe, I just watch people carry on with their day to day agenda’s. I find this process of observing gives me inspiration for my book. One thing I’ve noticed though is that the size of the Universe varies from person to person.

Ok, I hear you ask: “What the hell is this dude talking about?” Well it’s quite simple, we all sometimes forget that we are only bacteria on the body of God. (Remember bacteria aren’t always bad, there are some good bacteria in the body too!) But there are some who consider themselves to be at the centre of the Universe. They get incredibly irritated when things don’t go their way. They feel like the Universe was created to serve their every need and when it doesn’t they use it as an excuse to get angry at everyone and everything around them. When something goes wrong they think that God/the Universe/Fate etc is out to get them! It was intentionally done to them!

This bubble becomes like an impenetrable fortress that they feel comforted by, no one can get in unless they want to allow them in!
