without a phone nearby,
without music in the background,
without a computer in front of you,
without a book on your lap,
without the t.v. switched on,
without the radio playing,

…that you spent some time in silence?

All too often we drown out that inner conversation. It is this inner conversation which often ultimately shapes our lives. If we do not listen to it carefully, and fill it with voices from the outside, it is no wonder, than most people wander around confused about life, depressed and unable to make decisions.

The power of silence is phenomenal! Even if only, for a minutes a day, spend time on your own with no external input. Sit in a relaxed position and reflect on you life. Reflection happens automatically, but also let the reflection process take a break, and listen carefully deep inside. What can you hear?

Sat NavThese days, just about everyone has Satellite Navigation in their cars! You either get them with your new car or you can buy a Sat Nav portable unit for about £200. I first got mine about 18 months ago and I personally think it is a wonder of modern technology! It works most of the time but on the odd occasion, if there’s been a new road built, or there is a military base near by, it will tend to stop working unannouced and usually just when I am about 5 mins away from my destination and without a map! :P

The great thing about Sat Nav is that it will find you a new route automatically. On some days there may be an accident that causes a tail-back, or there may be road works, in any case, all you do is take an alternate route to the one shown on the screen of your Sat Nav and then it will automatically calculate a new route for you.

It has some excellent features and is so simple to use; all you do is select which city or town you want to visit, then type in the road name, the then house number or building and voila! You’re good to go! You also have the option to add specific land marks to the on screen map such as camp sites, petrol stations, hotels etc. You are guided by a voice, (which some of my friends say is sexy which I’m still undecided on! :P), that tells you which direction to go in next or which exit to take etc.

In the same way, the Universe is our very own Sat Nav device. It does not judge where you want to go. We are forever empowered to choose our destination; we choose exactly where it is that we want to go! We type in our destination with our thoughts and the Godliverse then proceeds in caculating the best route.

Along the route we have to listen carefully to the instructions given by the sexy Sat Nav voice of the Universe. Any major distractions may end up causing us to go onto a different route but so long as the destination is clear the Universal Sat Nav will find an alternate way. We also have the choice of choosing an alternate route. If you do not like the route that that Universe has chosen for you, you can still begin a new route and the Universe will happily respond with a new route in accordance to your desire.

You will pass various signs along the way, the signs are not always well lit but if you’re observant enough, you will know which signs to look out for that best guide you to you destination, just in case the Universal Sat Nav signal is low. This can happen when the sky is covered with heavy clouds or if the receivers signal gets blocked by tunnels. Just remember there is always light at the end of a tunnel! ;)

There you have it! Whether you have Sat Nav in your car or not; you have your very own personal Universal Sat Nav that leads the way to your chosen destination. All you have to do is switch on the receiver and program in your destination! :)

Occasionally, when I’m out with friends and we’re not sure what to do or, during a time when no one can decide what to do, people refer to that as “faffing” around. I checked for that word in the dictionary and I don’t think it has any meaning at all so I’m not aware of its origins, but I’ve decided to give it a new meaning. I’m going to start FAFing around a lot more, because FAF stands for

F = Focus
A = Act
F = Follow-Through

(Ok the last one is a bit of a cheat but who cares!)

FOCUS - POCUS!

So your first step is FOCUS! As Mr Miyagi, from “The Karate Kid”, always used to say: “Focus Daniel-sun, focus!” :P

There are a few simple steps you must take in order to get your focus clear on what your outcome is.

1) The first, is KNOW your OUTCOME! - If you are absolutely clear about what you want then this step, on its own, is enough to launch yourself out of the starting blocks. A 100m runner always stays focused on the finish line. A basketball player will always focus on the basket, a great badminton player, (such as myself ) always keeps their eyes focused on that shuttle cock! If your outcome is to make a £1million, why do you want £1million? To know is not enough, you must know why!

2) You HAVE TO get excited about your outcome. Create wonderful mini-movies in your mind about what you will do with that £1million and create a fun way that you are going to make it happen…even if it’s not a realistic one, create your mini-movie just as you choose! Remember, you are the director of your own life; you are the producer of your own life and the editor! YOUR movies are YOUR movies! So long as they’re exciting and stimulating for you, then you will more easily be able to move onto the “Action” portion of the process. The more exciting and fun it is, the better!

3) Write a mini-book about your outcome or say it out loud as if you are a radio announcer! This creates power! This creates an invisible energy within you that will attract the very thing you desire! It’s what I call, the FOCUS-POCUS, the magic that creates amazing things for you! Instead of singing in the shower, (many people have told me that I shouldn’t quit my day job to become a singer! :() talk like a radio show host and pretend to interview yourself about the success that you are going to achieve as if you already have!

ACT

We already covered some of the actions you must choose to take in order to begin the magic of creating what you want for your life. Now here are some imperative actions you should implement

1) Your focus is getting stronger with the above steps. But now you have to get off that donut-butt of yours and get you mind-body in shape. Firstly if your Outcome is to start a new business for example, websites and business cards won’t make themselves. Who cares if you don’t have a web designer yet? Start your plan now! Make a logo, what’s your brand image going to be? What’s your company tag line or motto? You can get all of this ready now! You don’t have to wait for the web space, designer or anything else; you can begin all this…..NOW!

2) Get all your contacts ready! Once again, taking the example of a new business, (but this can apply to anything else), you have to get in touch with those old friends that you haven’t spoken to since school. Get close to those people who you know you could exchange services with. Exchanging services is a great way to get things done quickly and cost effectively. I have a great deal with my car mechanic. He does everything on my car for free and I do all his computer work! Get in touch with these people now and get networking to make new contacts, join some social clubs, or maybe even dating organisations; you will make some fantastic contacts there!

FOLLOW-THROUGH!

Now you’ve begun, but momentum and steam tend to evaporate pretty quickly. If you leave water in a cup, in a couple of days, the water will be gone! You need to refill your cup!

1) Bang heads with friends and bounce ideas off one another. If you have a good circle of friends who you know will give you their honest opinions as well as give you constructive suggestions, you have a gold mine there! If you’re not already doing so, maybe arrange a poker game with them and use that social time to engage in discussion of ideas! You are at you most creative when you are having a good time! Just look at how quickly you come up with jokes when everyone is having a laugh; these things come to you so easily, so will new ideas if you’re with a good crowd and you all know how to have a good time! But follow through on those ideas, keep pushing them forward, chase up people, DO NOT rest until those things are done and dusted!

2) If someone doesn’t get in touch with you, get in touch with them! If someone is holding back the chain of events of getting to your outcome, drop them and find someone else! It’s harsh but simple; you have no choice because “THIS IS YOUR LIFE!” That funky red book that they hand to those nutty celebrities celebrating their lives. You have created that for yourself and it isn’t going to happen waiting on others. YOU MUST maintain your momentum and increase by exercising those muscles and jumping those hurdles. If you hit a hurdle, you momentum does get affected but you can easily get up and gain that momentum again if at that moment you remember you OUTCOME!!!! REMEMBER also WHY you are doing this and for what purpose for your own life!

——————————-

Enjoy the process, Make it fun for you and make it fun for those assisting in creating the delicious life OUTCOMES that you have chosen! Every day, remind yourself of your outcome, immerse yourself in it but if you ever find yourself burdened by the process then take a step back and remember why you began this journey! EMOTIONALISE YOUR OUTCOME so strongly within yourself that the moment you think of it, you feel that beautiful tingle of excitement about your dreams!

There you have it, become and FAFfer and start doing loads of FAFing!

MAKE IT FUN, MAKE IT FUN, AND MAKE IT FUN! :D

Walking woman…is the most soul destroying statement I have ever heard! I hear this statement from people over and over again and they often use it with regards to any situation that has not gone the way they had planned or hoped. They put it down to some superior force controlling their lives not allowing them to experience theselves as the glorious creators that they are.

Someone said this to me recently regarding a relationship, another friend used this statment when they didn’t get the job that they really wanted.

The truth is, the statement itself is absolutely true, but the way in which it is used to determine future events is disturbing. The way I think about it is; only past events are destiny, everything present and future is my choice and creation. The trouble begins when people start using that statement before and event has even happened. The problem is to continue using that statement is a submission that everything is out of our control when, in fact, we have control over our actions at every given moment. We also have the power to create our realities as we choose, we have influence over matter and energy and it is that influence that creates.

Every PRESENT moment represents and infinite number of possibilities. We use our power of choice to determine which of those possibilities we opt for. If I see the woman of my dreams walking by me on the street, I have a choice, I can either walk over to her and say hello or I can just let her walk by without taking any action. Now of course, there is a good chance that she may think I’m a complete wierdo approaching her at random, but what the heck, I may never see her again, so I’ll take a shot at it and make the most of it, because it’s my attitude and my conviction that determines the flow of the situation.

The other issue with that kind of statement is that the underlying thought is that there is a Godly force of sorts that is sitting “up there” deciding what is best for me even if it’s something I don’t like. Can you see the trouble with the thought like that? If I go for a job interview, with the thought: “If it’s meant to be I’ll get this job, If I don’t get it, it just means that it wasn’t meant to be.” What’s wrong with that picture? Quite simply I won’t be getting that job because my heart is just not there with my head. Why should I even try and looking for a job at all, God is going to decide what’s best for me, so God will deliver to my door the job s/he intends for me?

If you ever catch yourself in the act, of having that thought, gently say to yourself: “Whatever has happened, is of my choosing. I have the power to choose and create my present and future as I wish it to be. Only past events were meant to be, but were so through my own volition. Each moment is a glorious opportunity to re-create my life as I choose it to be now!”

It’s always a choice, and I always say; The only way to know, is to try for yourself! ;)

Busy busy busy!
icon1 Amit Sodha | icon2 Diary Entry | icon4 10 16th, 2006| icon314 Comments »

Hi All, I know I’ve been very quiet as of late and I humbly apologise to those eagerley awaiting my pearls of wisdom! :P

I’ve been very busy at work for the past few weeks and I have also been very busy and active in my social life, playing badminton (I’ve got my first league match of the season this Saturday), networking, life coaching, being life coached, dating, etc etc etc….you know how it can be for a 29 year old socialite!

I’m asked on many occasions how I bring balance to my life considering the amount of things that I do. Well, the truth is, I don’t always do it so well. I’m not perfect, and I don’t always manage to manage the tasks I choose to undertake as well as I’d like to. I do however do a few things that are a must when it comes to making sure I don’t bite off more than I can chew!

1) Get a calender! - If you don’t have one, get one! Whether it be of the paper variety or the electronic kind, get into the habit of using it. I use a obile phone/PDA and I sync it with my PC every day to keep my calender as up to date as possible.

2) Keep a tast lisk. - I know Tony Robbins would probably shoot me for saying this, but I tried his OPA method and I realised that it was too much for me, I don’t need such a powerful system as yet, just a general daily to do list is quite sufficient

3) Keep a jotter! - Have something you can make notes on always to hand! If I’m near my PC I’ll quickly draught and email with notes or more recently I’ve been saving any random thoughts as blog draughts and work on them later as needed. Or I make notes on my PDA. Always have something to hand you can make notes on as creative thoughts tend to emerge as the most unexpected of times.

UPDATE:
Michelle has kindly offered me a link to one of her aticles about how to make the most out of your to do lists without becoming drowned in them! :) (Thankyou)

Other stuff…

I’ve been pretty much dairy free for 14 days now. I did give in yesterday but I have to say my energy levels have shot up 3 fold! I’ve also been coffee free for 14 days and my sleep has improved so much so that I get a totally restful sleep absolutely every night now without fail!!

I promise I will put up my report on the Tony Robbins UPW seminar as soon as I can!

Miss you! :(

Thats it for now, hope to hear from you all soon!

Peace and god bless! x

Engine

Recondition your engine!

Your body = your car. Your brain = your engine

Just as with any car, your engine may need to tuned after months or years of usage. in the same way, your brain, over time can start behaving in an undesired way. The way you drive the car may also affect some parts of the car more than others i.e. they may suffer from wear and tear to a greater degree than other parts. To return it to a “new like” quality engine, it be must be re-tuned and certain parts may need to be replaced, renewed or just cleaned.

To tune your engine you have to get the timing exactly correct and once thats done you engine will begin to function normally once again. In addition to that, a few small parts may need to be replaced. You might need a new air filter, new spark plugs, a new timing belt and a few other bits just to make sure it goes smoothly for another x amount of miles.

The brain is very similar although much more highly sophisticated. Your brain will become accustomed to your daily routine, as a result, if only those parts of the brain are used repetitively, they will suffer from greater wear and tear than the other parts. So if you are only using a few areas or you brain on a consistent basis, recondition your brain, by breaking the normal routine and “drive” in a different manner. The parts of your brain which are over used will then have the time to “re-tune” themselves.

Driving (living) tips

1) Don’t over thrash your engine, you may burn more fuel than you expect and one day find yourself “out of gas”.

2) Keep your engine well lubricated by giving it the correct kind of oil.

3) Make sure there’s plenty of water in your engine, otherwise it may over heat! :P

4) Give your engine the fuel it was designed to have. Don’t put diesel into a petrol engine, otherwise you may end up having a “breakdown”!

5) Listen to your engine carefully every week or so, make sure there are no unusual noises coming from the engine! ;)

There have been moments where I have been stuck for content for this blog. I don’t read that much so most of that content that I put onto this blog comes from me. So, inevitably, there have been occasions where I’ve been ripping my hair out trying to think about what I’m going to write about next.

The trouble is, when you get to that stage, you’ve created a block for yourself that is not easy to get out of. The best way, is to get on with something else that you need to do. When you do that and you are completely focused on what you are doing, you will find that you will get “flashes”, so to speak, of ideas that will literally burst into your mind like bolts of lightening.

There is no need to fear any lack creativity. It doesn’t mean you’ve run out of ideas and won’t be able to have any more! Lack of creativity is a result of putting to much pressure on oneself. The way to alleviate that is a change of activity or giving your attention to something else. Your subconscious will continue working on any questions or potential ideas that you had earlier and without you even realising it, you will get bursts of creativity that will take you by surprise.

If you ever feel yourself getting to that stage, relax, change your scenery, do something else that you know needs doing and immerse yourself in that.

Of course you can continue your blogging or creative task, but take a few minutes, and just relax yourself, do some minute meditations (one of the books I’m working on) go look at some flowers, trees, birds (the non human variety) :P cars, kick a football around, do some skipping or just get out of your seat and shake that booty!

You can never truly change who you are, you can only change what you focus on, a somewhat controversial thought.

If you learn something new or change career or change your attitude or beliefs towards something then aren’t you changing? No, that part of you has emerged; it was always there, dormant, just waiting to be awoken.

Stop trying to change the person you are and only change that which you wish to see around you by changing what you focus on.

A simple way to do this is to saturate yourself by the things that you choose to emerge from yourself.

I know many people will disagree with this statement but I’ve been a firm believer from a very young age, that I, as a human being, have the potential to do or be anything! The me, the spirit, the soul, will always remain the same, but will only be exploring only a few parts of my eternal unlimited self at any one time.

VegetarianAs I promised two weeks ago, I wanted to use this blog to dish out some of my business Ideas. I have too many ideas, more than I can personally handle, and so my goal is for someone, to take away these ideas and make something of them. Obviously, I hold no obligation to you, if the idea comes to fruition, to give me anything, but any contributions voluntarily thrown my way will be greatfully received!

As you probably guessed from the title, I’m a vegetarian. Over time, being a vegetarian, you can get a little fed up with the lack of options there are available to vegetarians when eating out. Especially recently, I’ve noticed this more as I’ve decided to try and eliminate dairy from my diet. Just last night I gave in and decided to have a cheese pizza!!

—————————————————–

So this is my idea:

I think it’s high time someone created a pure vegetarian restaurant that offers varieties of VEGGIE BURGERS. You go to a Mcdonalds, they used to have two and now they only have one! (Not that I go there often or eat their food often) One type of veggie burger when there are about 15 different types of meat burgers you can get….psshhht!! Someone please tell me if I’m wrong, but I don’t know a single vegetarian restaurant within the U.K. that combines: Healthy Eating + Vegetarian/Vegan + Variety!! If someone reading this, if you have the resources, please please open up a vegetarian restaurant that has not only a variety of veggie burgers and other dishes, but also focuses on health! Most people are vegetarian because they understand the health benefits of being a vegetarian and yet very few places promote the two things together. I know it’s a huge challenge catering just for vegetarians but I know of one vegetarian restaurant near me, in Harrow, called: Veggie Inn. They do superb food and not to mention the owners are lovely people. Whenever I go in there, they are always busy and the dishes the serve are soooooo tasty! (when you go, I highly recommend the Veggie Duck as a starter!) There is a place in Wembley called: Wembley Diner. I went in there recently and saw that they did a Vegetarian Kebab. I tried it, it was a mix of gently grilled veggies, salad and humous! It was the best veggie dish I’ve had in ages! It was simple, free from dairy and had very little oil!

So there we have it! A vision for someone to create, not only the best, most delicious, healthy Veggie Burgers in the world! Also a veggie restaurant that has variety, including dairy free alternatives and focuses on the health aspect as much as taste and variety!

Good luck!

Vegetarians are people too you know! :P

I got this one today and I thought it was pretty good and so I would put it up! :)

George Carlin’s Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old
is when we’re kids? If you’re less than 10 years old, you’re so excited
about aging that you think in fractions.

“How old are you?” “I’m four and a half!” You’re never thirty-six and
a half. You’re four and a half, going on five! That’s the key.

You get into your teens, now they can’t hold you back. You jump to the
next number, or even a few ahead.

“How old are you?” “I’m gonna be 16!” You could be 13, but hey, you’re

gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . you become 21.
Even the words sound like a ceremony . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound
like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There’s no fun now,
you’re Just a sour-dumpling. What’s wrong? What’s changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you’re PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the
brakes, it’s all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50
and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn’t think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You’ve built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it’s a
day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch;
you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn’t end there. Into the 90s,
you start going backwards; “I Was JUST 92.”

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a
little kid again. “I’m 100 and a half!”

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.

Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay “them ”

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
whatever. Never let the brain idle. “An idle mind is the devil’s
workshop.” And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who
is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it’s family, pets,
keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable,
improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9 Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next
county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the
moments that take our breath away.
