FireworksWell this is officially the 200th blog post on this site and approximately my 180th post overall. It’s been an interesting journey over the last 17 months and of course, you can tell by the frequency of my recent blog posts that it’s becoming a tad slow. This has nothing to do with a lack of ideas! I have ideas for articles coming out of my ears. The challenge now for me is time. I am busier than I have ever been before and so I now face a new challenge of learning to manage my time in a much more effective way.

Over these past months I’ve faced some new challenges, ones that I thought I would never expect in my lifetime. When these challenges occur people often react with the question: “Why me?” But I’ve realised something very simple, you will get challenges for the following reasons:

1) Because you ready for them
2) Because you’ve demonstrated that you’ve grown
3) Because you want to grow further

The challenges will come at the worst possible time! They’ll come when you’ve got a 1001 to already juggle but you’ve decided deep down that I want to see what else I can do! It’s like when you take a new car for a test drive, you want to push it to the limits and know the capabilities of the car.

When the challenges arrive, in the first few precious moments of them, you may stumble. You first thought may even be that you’re already failed. I assure you that is not the case! You may have hit the hurdle, but you can still run through it.

It’s natural to want to beat yourself when things don’t seem to be going right. You may even get depressed, shut away from the world and create a cocoon around yourself so that no one can see you in this vunerable situation. But it is those moments that the growth truly occurs. It may seem like you’re wallowing in the problem but sometimes that’s actually a good thing! It’s one of many methods to get an answer so that you can work through and leap over this challenge!

Trying to pretend that you’ve already overcome the challenge has never worked for me personally. The only things that have worked are introversion, meditation, walking, exercising, or reading. In any case, focussing on the end result is also very important but staying focussed on the task at hand is even more so!

To all you spiritual gods and goddesses, I wish you a truly uplifting weekend!

When you what to manifest something, anything at all, the secret is not to try and attain that thing. Doing so will always keep that thing out of your reach. The secret is to remember that thing is already within you, and all you have to do is vibrationally match up to it. Don’t strive for the thing, strive for the vibrational match.

PokerSometimes, it doesn’t matter how good your hand is, there will be times when there are others who will be dealt a better hand. Regardless of what hand you’ve been dealt, if you can come away from the table with your pockets empty and nothing but a smile on your face, you’ve truly learnt, understood and won the game.

There are some who win it all, go away with all the winnings, but does that make them happy? If it does, it doesn’t last for long. The best way to play your hand is with courage and understand that nomatter the outcome of the hand you will keep smiling and know that you will still be able to play another day. It can be heartbreaking at times, sometimes it just may seem like that no matter how good your hand, you still get beaten! (Trust me, I’ve been there!) Learn to judge when it’s a good time to fold and when it’s a good time to take that chance and let the cards reveal themselves. It’s not about the poker face, if you try and outsmart your opponents, you will be outsmarted. If you bluff, prepare to have your bluff called. Get to know the game well and know when to bluff and when to use your poker face.

Overall, make sure you enjoy the game, after all, it is a game, and in this great game that we call life, you can learn a lot about how to live, through playing poker, and playing the hand you’ve been dealt well. :)
