Life is a journey, not a destination! C’mon, who’s heard that cliche before? I think we all have but how many of us practice it? Hands up how many of us get to a destination and feel a sense of slight disappointment once you’ve reached the destination? I know I have, but all through the journey I felt an immense sense of excitement but I always forgot to capture and appreciate that amazing feeling of anticipation and a wondrous uncertainty!

Remember each and every journey, savour it completely and fully! Acknowledge it, capture it, freeze the moment in time and soak in it’s wonderful aroma!! ;-)

Love the journey!

I’m going to Amsterdam for a few days for yet another stag weekend! :-D I will be back on Sunday, however, if I get the chance to put up my daily wisdoms upon stumbling into an internet cafe, I will do, if I cannot find one, I promise that they will be back soon!

Boredom

Boredom is just a lack of creativity. If you ever find yourself with time in your day with nothing to do, how about expressing gratitude in having those precious moments to yourself? We always complain that we don’t have enough time to ourselves. I say that’s just an excuse! The truth is when we have too much on we bitch about it and when we don’t have enough on we bitch about that too!

Boredom is one of the strongest most obvious signals that you’re sending out to the universe that you’re not grateful for the amazing life that you have and immediately that creates resistence to allowing good to come to you.

At times when you’re bored it’s worth taking a moment or two and expressing your gratitude for having these moments in your life where you can spend it however you choose! Anytime you get the sense that you’re feeling bored, change it straight away and start giving gratitude in the moment for the moment!

I want you to take a good look at a typical day of yours. I want you to begin to think about, in percentage terms, where your thoughts are focused.

E.g.

10% on what I can do to help others
20% on taking care of your families needs
20% on worrying about tomorrow
30% on thinking about the past
10% on thinking about your goals
10% on thinking about finances

I want you to take a close look at those percentages. I want you to ask yourself and answer as honestly as possible, where are the majority of your thoughts focused and is that majority causing you to experience a particular reality within your life? If yes, then you now know, the first place to effect change in your life.

Once you know, you can then go about creating strategy for effecting change.

E.g.

You can read or listen to more uplifting material on a regular basis. I always recommend this as one of the first steps to change because we are bombarded with information from t.v., radio, magazines, etc., it’s time for you to start filling your head with things that make you expand and grow as a human being.

So as a starting point, create a reading list of some books that are of interest to you but you never got around to reading and begin making your way through the list. If you think you don’t have enough time, then get them in audio format. Listen to them while you’re cooking, cleaning, driving to work or just before you go to bed. Make it an absolute priority to undertake this program of choosing to grow through choosing what information you wish to allow into your life. You can never take complete control over it, you can however take a step towards making sure that you are feeding your intellect some level of good on a regular basis.

Go ahead, start with the percentages!

She truly has one of the most amazing singing voices!!

An SOS (Simple Obvious Strategy) to increase our love for ourselves and others

Even modern science tells that every atom in the universe is more intricately connected that we will ever probably be able to understand. And who knows, whatever the physical represents, maybe it has it’s metaphysical counterpart?!

It is with this in mind that whenever I see a stranger, or I meet someone for the first time, while still going through the usual motions of the meet and greet, internally I say to myself “HELLO ME!” This is because the person in front of me are intricately connected, we are made of the same stuff, we came from the same soup, we were manifested by the same great universal force, they and I are part of the same universal body!

This always reminds me to treat them exactly as I would treat myself in an counter, i.e., with love, honesty courtesy, and respect.

So in reality, anyone you meet, you are in fact, just meeting another part of yourself. :)

Teamwork demonstrated.

Today, I was doing voluntary work at a school. I was doing team building exercises with the students. Their task was to solve a puzzle by making a complete square out of the random shaped puzzle pieces that were given to them.

Out of the 24 groups or so that I worked with today, only 3 managed to solve the puzzle. I noticed something very interesting about the groups that did mange to complete it. The groups that did solve the puzzle, every member of the team participated in the task 100% and as a result, they managed to solve it! All the other groups, had one or two stragglers that created a drag coefficient on the rest of their team mates which meant they didn’t have the resources or the power of as many minds to solve the puzzle.

So, the question is do you straggle? Or do you give 100% to your team various teams in life?

So, there I was in the shower a couple of days ago and suddenly the idea for this post came into my head. So are we really destined to reach a particular point in our lives and if so the question arises; does that mean, that the point that we reach is our maximum potential? Or can we surpass our supposed destiny? And if we’ve surpassed our destiny then is that new level we’ve reach our new destiny?? Who or what the heck is deciding what our destiny is anyway!

For those that have been visiting this blog often, you will already know that I don’t believe in destiny at all, I believe in choice and that choice is the supreme universal driving force. However maybe it’s a bit late to be bringing this up but that’s a tiny bit of lie! I do sort of believe in destiny, but not quite the way that some people do. I do believe in the grand design, but I also believe that the grand design is determined by our choices. Confused? Good! Now just wait till I get going! :P

Lets step back to the title just for a moment, capability vs destiny. So if we were to believe for now that we do have a destiny, does that mean then that we will reach a certain point in life or acheive a certain thing but be unable to go any further? Or are we unlimted creatures with unlimited potential within the scope of the known laws of physics? How are the boundaries of fate or destiny designed, decided or specified?

Lets say, for arguments sake, there is such a thing called destiny. If we all had a specific role to play within a grandly designed tapestry on a material we know as space-time then who or what created the tapestry. Who or what provided the fabric? Was it a God-like Taylor? With who or what does the decision or the roles of every creature on this green earth reside? And we’re just talking on a global scale here, we haven’t even begun to think about other races and life forms in the rest of the Universe!

My personal theory is that the grand design is based on constant energy. I won’t go into more detail on this particular article as I want to turn your attention now to then the possibility of capability only being limited by our imagination, emotion, desire, and yes of course, choice! As already discussed, if you support the theory of destiny you hit ceilings and barriers that almost unanswerable by nature. E.g. who or what sets the limits? With capability there is only one question that needs answering, i.e. How high? And than can only be answered by ones own self growth, through desire, drive and ambition.

Quite frankly, whether we’ve been put here for a purpose, is totally irrelevant. What is completely relevant is what are you going to do while you have the choice and capability? Are you going to be dictated to about how high you can go? Or will you choose to let the voice in your be boundless and unlimited in it’s capability! It is in fact down to “Unlimited Choice!”

It was with that in mind that I decided to rename my book from “The power of choice” to “Unlimited Choice” because that to me sums up even more how much scope there is for us as human beings.

I kept this article much shorter than I originally intended but to finish I just wanted to share this with you. Have you been watching the t.v. series Heroes? I managed to watch the final episode yesterday and as I watched my jaw dropped because for me it totally tied in with the ideas shared within this post.

I’ll try not to spoil it for those of you that have not seen it but in the final episode, Sylar, forsee’s the future, however that future is changed….what changes it? It was choice through capability! It was the decision of one person to realise his capability and then make a choice which ultimately changed what Sylar had seen as being written in the future. That episode for me sums up for me the way in which the grand design I spoke of earlier, interacts with our choices. If you haven’t seen this t.v. show, for those of you that are sci-fi fans, I highly recommend it!

Choose your destiny! (A true new paradox!)

You can try and chang change people and circumstances as much as you wish but ultimately you will burn out. What takes less energy, and is more rewarding in the long run is to change yourself. People become fixated on the idea that they are the way are and there is no reason for them to change.

Firstly if there’s no reason for you to change then why should anyone else change to suit your needs? And secondly, when a situation has already occured, you can try and change the past but that’s currently beyond our realm of possibility.

Change is a bit of a nasty word, lets inter-change it with growth. If you work on your own growth you are much more likely to come out of the situation on top. It’s like a game, say tennis, if you don’t learn to become better at it, improve your strokes, you will always end up being the one that does most of the running.

JPMorganHi Everyone! I’ve just sent out this message to all my friends on email, but the same goes to you too, please do sponsor me, the money all goes to good causes!!!

Good afternoon to you all on this glorious sunny day! You’re all looking so well and in fact, did I mention how radiant you all looked the last time I saw you?……nah…it’s no good…I can’t lie…it’s that time of year and I’m just after your money!! I thought a compliment might ease the blow!

Some of you will remember that last year I ran the JPMorgan Corporate Challenge run which was 5.6km and I finished it in about 40 mins. Thanks to you all I managed to raise a whopping £330 which all when the Unicef charity specifically assisting children in Cambodia. I just want to say thanks again for all your support and donations, it meant a great deal. I even still have the banner which my beautiful friend PJ kindly made for me and was waving around at the park!!! (Even the radio commentators saw it and were saying “Go Amit” apparently!) (Thanks again PJ and to the rest of you that came down that day!!!) (However I am expecting another banner this year PJ!) :P

It’s come around again and this year once again I’ll be running with my work team and this year we’re all fundraising for UNICEF together. So if you would like to sponsor the team then here is the link that you can go to and make your donation online! - http://www.justgiving.com/TNSJPMORGAN2007

The event takes place on Wednesday the 11th of July in Battersea Park from 6pm onwards. Last year some of you came down and as promised I allowed you all to hurl abuse at me while I was running and throw tomatoes at me, the offer remains open, I know that some of you have been wanting to do that to me for years…so now’s your chance!

Right…that’s the first one out of the way, Now the second one! I’m also going to running the 10K Bupa Great Capital Run on the 15th of July at Hyde Park. For this event I’m going to be raising money for Help a London Child (HALC). I’m just waiting for my pack to come through but you also more than welcome to sponsor me for this event too! (c’mon, I hear those pockets and purses rustling with notes and jingling with coins just waiting to be lightened!) Once I get the details I’ll pass then onto you but please feel free to start making your pledges now!

Also it would be great to catch up with some of you so make sure you come down and hook up with me after the run for a nice slap up meal with plenty of fatty stuff and deserts!….C’mon, you wouldn’t want a cuddly teddy bear like me turning into a stick would you?

Like I said, please try and make it down to either one of the events if you can, put it in your diary’s now! It would great to catch up and what more fun can you have than watching a lard butt like me drag his sorry excuse for donut belly around a 10k circuit! :P

In fact, whle writing this I’ve just had an idea! There’s about 300 of you on this mailing list, If I can get just £500 in sponsorship for the BUPA run, I’ll do it in costume! C’mon that’s only £2 each!!

What costume is up to you, but I’ll make a couple of suggestions…at some point or another I’ve had one of these as a nickname so here goes - 1) Mr Blobby 2) A TellyTubby 3) Pumba from the Lion King. The choice is yours!

What do you say?

I just wanted to let you all know that i’ve started a new project called Good Will Coaching. To explain further, here’s a brief explanation I put up onto a community bulletin board:

I wanted to take this opportunity to start a new form of Life Coaching called good will coaching for people who are coming to the end of their studies and are not sure what direction in life they wish to take. The idea is that I’ll give you some Life Coaching sessions, primarily over email, chat or phone.

If in the future the Life Coaching you receive is a defining moment for you and assists you in getting to a place where you end up doing what you love, then, if you choose to, you can then compensate me to whatever amount you choose. If it does not, you owe me nothing. Either way it’s a win win situation for you.

I do ask for one thing though and that is a testimonial for my website. :)

Obviously I am only one person undertaking this project and I will take on as many clients as I am able to deal with at any one time. If I cannot start your coaching straight away, bear with me and I will begin it as soon as is possible.

The coaching will consist of 3 sessions either by phone, email, or gmail chat. If it’s on the phone I do ask that the call is made by you.

That’s it for now, so if you yourself would like to get Life Coaching or know of anyone that could do with some, you now know where to send them! :)

Wishing you all the best,

Amit

So there we have it, although in the message above, I mention only students, if you’re truly struggling and don’t know where to turn and need some assistance, then tell me about your situation and I will then decide, dependent on my level of resources at the time, if I can take you on as a client.

Someone asked me the question: “What is a Life Coach?” Here is how I would define it:

What I do, as a Life Coach, is to be your assistant to success! I work with people and taylor my program based on what their needs are. Everyone is different and has something different s/he wants to achieve/do/be! My goal, through the coaching process will be to get you to excel beyond your preconceived idea of what you thought was possible for yourself.

I look forward to hearing from you! :)

An old tale of two Zen monks:

Two Zen monks were once traveling together when they came to a stream widened by recent rainfall. By the bank stood a beautiful young woman dressed in fine clothes. She obviously wanted to cross the water but was distressed at the prospect of ruining her finery. Without hesitation one of the monks offered to carry the young woman across the stream on his back. She gratefully accepted his kind offer. The monk helped to hoist her up on his back and without more ado carried her across and put her down on the dry ground.

The two monks then continued on their way, but the other monk started complaining. “It is not right to touch a woman, especially one so young and lovely. It is against our commandments to experience close contact. How could you go against the rules for monks?” The monk who had carried the woman walked along silently for a few minutes before replying. Finally he said, “I set her down by the river, but you are still carrying her.”

Just yesterday I was in a incredibly sticky situation at work. At the time I was naturally worried about how I was going to resolve the situation and how I was going to go about it. It took me some time to get the situation resolved thanks to one very helpful site manager. Once I had finished doing what I needed to do I left the site and headed towards the train station. I noticed however that even after I got on the train I was still thinking about the sticky situation! WHY??? It was resolved! I was still carrying it with me even though I didn’t need to and it was that “carrying” that made it incredibly tired later that day.

What are you still carrying? Or should I say, what are you still choosing to hold on to that you could’ve let go a long time ago?!?

People sometimes see death as a very morbid subject to discuss and in some ways I can understand.

However, truthfully, I find talking about death and uplifting subject and highly motivational. I cannot say or prove with 100% certainty that I’ve lived before or that I’ll live again. But what I can say with absolutely certainty is that I know I’m living now and only have a brief momentary lifespan before I take the next journey, death, liberation, call it whatever you wish.

So during this short time, while I’m living and here on this amazing world, I’ll remind myself that my visit will be brief so I’ll do what I can to not only make it a wonderful experience for me, but those around me too!
