What if, you were to see yourself as great, and to also see all those around you as great too?

Solitude is one of the primary keys to personal power. Watching t.v. alone doesn’t count! You can use music in your periods of solitude but pure silence is the absolute way to go and the longer you spend alone, the more power you will imbibe. Use any tools you choose, meditation, breating, yoga, but make this time an absolute must as part of your regular schedule!

When you grow and become a more empowered individual, many people will always see you smiling and make the assumption that you no longer face challenges. That is not the case at all, the more you grow, the greater the challenges become!

When you have problems people immediately jump to your aid and that in itself can give you a nice feeling of being loved and getting attention. When you choose to speak of your challenges less, the less attention you get and so that in itself can also become a challenge.

However you will also get people who will acknowledge your achievements and then seek your counsel so that they can then perhaps make the same or similar challenges to your life.

So you see, problems don’t go away, they change form, you just become much better equipped to deal with them effectively.

How often do you let those around you set the tone, pace and general feel of your life? Say at work for example, is the general tone and feel of the office or your department quite somber and does that mean that you too are that or in the process of becoming so? How about, for a change, you set the tone, pace and feel of your surrounding environment.

It doesn’t take much to be the one holding the reigns! All you’ve got to do is introduce some spice. Maybe start a little friendly competition of some sort of take some “creative inducing”, as opposed to stress relieving, toys to the office. My colleagues and I recently invested in a Gyro Powerball and we’ve created a little league to see who can get the highest score! If you’ve never seen one do a search on you tube and you’ll see! ;-) I also invested in a GeoMag set to get the creative juices flowing. There is so much you can do! So quit complaining, if you don’t like it change it to the way that you would like it to be and set the tone from now on!! :-D

100 Days of Wisdom…Day 68

I prefer not to normally share quotes by others but this one is just an amazing quote, i’m sure you’ve come across it but if you haven’t then you’re in for a real treat!!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others - Maryanne Williamson

How often do you do something for the sake of keeping up appearances?

Yesterday I did the charity fun and I completed it 5 minutes faster than I did last year. Last year I made the mistake of rushing off at the beginning with the rest of the crowd and tiring myself out very quickly…I remember when I saw the 1km mark my jaw just dropped as I felt like I had run much further. This time I’d learned my lesson and despite seeing nothing but people rushing past me, I stuck to my plan and kept at my own pace. This time I finished the race with plenty of energy to spare. While I was seeing all these people rushing past me I did feel a little bit like joining them but I knew that if I did I wouldn’t complete the race in one go!

I got the sense that a lot of people rushed off just because everyone else did and that was what they were supposed to do. But later in the race I caught up to a lot of those people I saw rushing off in the beginning.

So if those people had created a game plan and stuck to it rather than doing what everyone else is doing, their probability of being successful in completing the race in one go would’ve been much, much higer.

Keeping up appearances for the sake of it is easy…following your own heart and game plan is the real challenge in life!

Today I’m doing my a 5.6Km run for charity! I know I’ve said it before but I’m 19stone, that’s nearly 270lbs. I could so easily have thought to myself: “Amit, you’re way to big and heavy to do a run, you might damage your knees, running is bad for me!” But if I carried on with that attitude for the rest of my life chances are I’d accomplish nothing! It doesn’t matter where you are right now, what matters is where you want to be and finding the straightest line possible to get you there! On Sunday I’ll be running 10K…Whether I succeed or not, I will always be proud of how far I’ve come from 2 years ago when I was that 22 stone plump couch potato who could barely walk down the stairs without being in pain!

What ever it is, you can do it!

Some people get just the right amount of leverage by leaving things to the last minute and then completing them. Sometimes that is a valid and a good strategy to use. The trick is though to use it only when you have to and when the need arises. At other times, plan and do, way ahead of time! If you always leave things to the last minute you will always be in stressed state. Whether that gets you good results is irrelevant, it still leaves you in a state where you cannot be relaxed and happy. If you do plan ahead, not only do you get the good results but you can then kick back and chillax too! :-)
