You constantly hear about how we need to "stay connected" and how we as people should be as open as possible (in regards to communication) but rarely did I ever stop to think about how such an act could actually be slowing me down. Between IM, Facebook, texting, calling, and face to face meetings, I DO indeed spend a lot of time just shooting the breeze with friends when sometimes I could be more productive. Don't get me wrong, I think having a strong social life is VERY important, but it's also important to realize there's a fine line between wasting time on IM and having a real conversation with someone.
