A huge hello to all my readers. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on personal development but that will very soon continue and in the mean time I just wanted to give an update of what’s been going on, on the radio show.
On the 25th of January we interviewed James Cleverly who has been appointed directly by, Boris Johnson, The Mayor of London, as the new Youth Ambassador.
We managed to speak to James on the show for 15 minutes and we asked him some tough questions about how he intends to reach out and relate to the young people in london. He responded with some very succinct and engaging answers so lets watch this space and see what he do about some of the major issues affecting the youth in London. You can keep up to date with James and his activities on his blog at http://jamescleverly.blogspot.com/
On the 1st of February we firstly interviewed Paul Angunawela who is directing the new film called ‘Blame It On The Bhangra’ and they are doing a casting call this Saturday at Ealing Town Hall between 11am and 3pm. So if you’re a budding young actor make sure you get down there as this could be your chance to break into the movies!
Also later in the show we interviewed Sir Ken Robinson who has just launched his new book called ‘The Element’. I first found out about Sir Ken when I watched his Ted Talk on Youtube which I found to be incredibly inspiring. He talks about encouraging more creativity in schools and education as a whole as illustrated by the example he gave of Gillian Lynn, the creator of the west end production ‘Cats’.
This week on the show we’ll be interviewing H-Dhami who’s a huge musical talent expecially in the world of Bhangra and also Mutah Beale – a former rapper with the American Hip Hop group ‘The Outlawz’. Mutah has turned his back on the gangster lifestyle and is now focussing on going into schools and talking to kids about the pitfalls of the glamorised gangster lifestyle.
Make sure you tune into the show every Sunday from 6 – 8pm in West London on 89.6FM or online at http://www.westsideradio.co.uk or http://www.myspace.com/westside896
