I was on the train recently and this attractive young woman stepped onto the carriage. She was pretty, however she was wearing so much make-up that she almost looked orange.
I once went on a photo shoot some years ago and to make me look pretty for the pictures, they put some make up on me. I absolutely hated it! They put on so much I felt suffocated. I felt like my skin couldn’t breathe so when I see someone wearing so much, I can’t help but think that must be suffocating.
One of the things I love about my partner is that she doesn’t wear much…make-up that is.
She wears a little bit of lipstick, a tiny bit of eye-liner and occasionally puts on a very liberal amount of foundation.
In the past, I’ve worn a white jumper or light coloured clothing, hugged girls and come away with a completely different coloured top to when I started.
Ladies, if half your make-up comes off after hugging someone, then you’re definitely wearing too much.
I’m surprised that some women have not made the connection between wearing too much and how quickly the guy escapes your clutches in the morning after seeing them without make-up for the first time.
The simple truth is, if you wear too much, you’re disguising who you are. Let people see your beautiful flaws. They are a part of you.
I don’t exactly have the best skin in the world, or the thickest hair, but I accept what my appearance is.
Naturally, I tidy my hair daily, I shave, I do believe in personal grooming and I iron my shirts to look smart. I’ve even had my eyebrows plucked once (we’ll save that story for another day).
I do believe personal appearance is important and represents how you view yourself.
As with anything there comes a point where you can cross a line and the thing you think is good for you suddenly becomes bad. Make-up is no exception.
I’m not an expert but I don’t think you have to be to know that the long term exposure to the chemicals in make-up is eventually going to take its toll on your skin.
It’s always been my opinion, that women look the most attractive when they are not caked in make-up to the extent that when they smile, it’s cracks and flakes off your skin. A small amount is all you need to enhance your appearance. Be liberal with the application and you’ll reflect your true beauty.
If there’s a lesson I’d like to give you, which I’ve taken from my other half, is that a small amount is all you need. I also love all her imperfections. We all have them, there’s no need to hide them. Learn to love them and other people will love them too. See the funny in your flaws and no-one will ever be able to use them as a weapon against you.
So to finish off, I bet you’re wondering what my girlfriend looks like? I bet you’d like to see a picture of her right?

You funny boy : ) I have to agree. Girls are so much more nice without all that heavy make up. Your orange friend on the train may have been drinking too much Sunny Delight.

LOL @ Sunny Delight…or she’d been tangoed!!
Hahaha Sunny D! Aww I miss that!
Super-awesome article dude! Let’s hope all the ladies who think their face is naked without make-up, will wake up to the reality and stop kidding themselves
Thanks for encouraging self-appreciation and love dude! Your girlfriend looks kinda pretty btw – I’m a tad jealous!

Too much make-up on some ladies can make a man run. At least I sometimes have such a feeling when talking to some women.
Thanks for the great post Amit! Like it as always!
