As for you decision to take the sick leave and the result...i can totally relate...that's why I took the holiday in the first place. I did fell refreshed but I regretted not getting more done. "As for life getting shorter yeah that will happen. And suddenly you will gian a little more respect for those people who leave dead on 5pm to go and do something other than work. Live to work or work to live." You know what? you're absolutely right!! sometimes I do glance at those people leaving at 5.30 at the dot and now you've said that, I think you've actually got a point there. However, anytime extra I do spend at work, more often than not, I do things that I need to get done for me, not for work. sick leave…well there’s only so much you can take before they start asking questions. Recently when having time off I go back to work more exhausted than when I left. I took some sick leave just so I could have some time to myself. No family, no TV, just me getting on with all the stuff that had built up around me just waiting to get done. I feel much more refreshed.
